Circularity to me means…

Circularity is a fulcrum of power, a way of providing power from systems with excess to systems with too little. This may be turning waste into resources by recycling, or providing opportunities for people who have too much time to volunteer. It might be providing skills sharing or even distribution of knowledge through education.

Hello, my name is Kelly Bradley…

After many years living in active addiction I gained sobriety but still found myself depressed, lonely and isolated.

I needed something that could help me change the situation that I was in. I discovered Circularity after recognising the link with the band Star From Ivy. I approached Chris Baldwin about an idea I had and was warmly welcomed and within a couple of days I was doing a Podcast with the guys about my journey through using my destruction of choice (alcohol) to sobriety.

Just the encouragement and feedback alone gave me some confidence and enabled me to feel part of something again and to get involved in other Circularity projects. The feeling of connection enabled me to become more active in the local community and helping out with a local charity.

Currently I am excited to be involved in the allotment project CircularityGROW, the feeling of working together in a group to tend the earth, grow produce and create a beautiful space for adults and children alike is priceless and so cathartic. I have also volunteered for the community managed library project and foresee this to be a great opportunity for me to further connect with the community and therefore grow in confidence.

The Circularity.org Podcast is another great project that I look forward to be involved in as I love the idea of a platform for intelligent debate over complex issues where people with possibly opposing views can reach solutions that were previously not even considered.

During my time with Circularity I have found it easier to remain sober which has led to my reconnection with my estranged Daughters, I will always be grateful for the opportunities I find in Circularity and the chance to change from Me to We.
